About

Next Move is a movement of sport and faith.  Next Move is a movement of Christian athletes. We love sports and believe that God loves every person and therefore every athlete. We do not keep that to ourselves, but we like to share it with everyone in the sports world, because we also want them to.

We are focused on three strategies:
  • Sports community: A church who uses sports on a weekly base to connect with their neighborhood so that every person involved, believer or non-believer, grows towards Jesus.
  • Sports network: We recognize that every sport has its own culture, and every culture needs it’s own approach to share Christ. Therefore, we empower athletes to share Christ in the clubs and teams they are active in.
  • Sports mentoring: God gave some athletes a gift to play at a high level. We believe in their talents and help them in their spiritual live.

These three strategies are supported by two main products:
  • Outreaches: we send athletes from within our strategies out all over the world on short term outreaches to help partner organization in their sports mission.
  • Sports camp: Once a year we organize a teenage sports camp focused on the strategies. It is a way in to the movement within our country.

August 2020
  • We stand in awe of how GOD just showed up with an excess of Grace and good health to our family. GOD is doing something incredible!
  • We dedicated August to all females around the world, and we took a strong stand to say NO TO GENDER BASED VIOLENCE especially against females as well kids. We are not excluding any gender hence we declare a war against GBV!
  • However, we celebrated all females through a powerful Women’s March on Women’s day 9th August in our town as well as in other communities in South Africa. More pics of the marches will be uploaded on our website www.kingdomsportsministry.org
  • Covid-19 has really pushed us as a ministry to a new level of trusting GOD for the many youth and ministry leaders around South Africa and beyond in various parts of Africa. It personally brought my wife and I to a point of just surrendering more & more to the Helper, Provider, Healer, Comforter and only Father Christ Jesus......Why, well after receiving overwhelming requests for food from both males and females across Africa let alone just the local ministry kids parents, we believe you cannot teach a hungry person hence we tried to help as many as possible but realizing when we give it to GOD then HE makes all things possible. Thank you to all that contributed and still contributing towards our Covid Feed.
  • We are thankful that we are now able to operate from a family laptop for online schooling due to Covid-19 as well as a ministry laptop for myself to be able to continue leading and raising up dedicated disciples throughout Africa through the various social media platforms. Special thanks to the gifts for Laptop support!
  • The gospel Living ball is making its way around the African Continent and just amazed how many African countries we were able to bless with the Gospel through a soccer ball! Thanks to the Living Ball Ministry leader, Mani for support!
  • Coach Todd from Ireland surprised our ministry with fantastic tools to use.
  • Another highlight is our new Hip Hop street dance ministry launched during Covid-19 by a now young adult boy who came to our ministry house doorstep before he even could walk properly in a diaper! Huge thanks to missionary Kyle for ongoing love and support shown to our community and specially theses young boys!
  • A grateful and heartwarming appreciation to so many of you who support our ministry specially through prayer as it’s the biggest investment required; you know who you are. Too many to mention by name but CSRM family we say “baie dankie”/ Thank you very Much for believing in the life we live for GOD.

June 2020
  • I do believe that the Lord is stepping into the situation in the world today, to do what He does best, bring us freedom. Thank you for the support we have received during this challenging time. We rejoice in how the Lord has provided during this time. Thank you!
  • We never stopped the ministry, just continued via social media due to Lock down restriction of movement.
  • Covid restrictions in South Africa continue to be lowered but many job sectors remain close. Church leaders are feeling the effect to effectively disciple due to many families unable to return to work and needing to provide for their families. This slow re-entry into churches have left many followers relying on government for a mere monthly R350/$23 per family as a food relief fund hence my previous request which was gracefully supported by your generous giving. We have a partnership with a huge supply store to maximize the food relief funds to reach as many families throughout South Africa as possible.
  • We are doing June and July Virtual Online Trainings with new GNPs in Africa. No trips due to Covid-19 lock down restrictions

Prayer Requests
  • Keeping my family healthy during Covid-19 pandemic
  • Wisdom to lead Africa effectively
  • Strength to continue to lead national pastors fraternal to convince Government Church is essential

April 2020
- There have been very little activities this month, due to the Coronavirus lock down situation in our country. The greatest success so far is being able to connect digitally to the African CSRM staff & GNPs.

- Together we are defeating COVID-19 as well as DEFEATING HUNGER IN AFRICA. We want to keep you informed of how you're bringing positive global change, reducing global hunger and poverty in Africa through OUR FAMILY LIVES. Our heart is to support all nine African countries we are associated with through the ministry as well as support the local nine state/provincial ministry leaders helping us within South Africa to grow CSRM that we disciple.

- We believe you cannot teach a hungry human so we are in a season to feed during COVID-19. We aim to feed 165 families during this time. Thus far we managed to feed 72 families, and 52 families gave their lives to GOD!

- We understand the nature of the current global pandemic so we are more than grateful to you for blessing many families in this challenging time for both you and others. If this is all news to you for the first time.... remember it’s never too late to be a blessing!

-I recently started training a former associate based in Lesotho, and he is super excited to be part of CSRM in future.

-At home, my wife, Joslyn, is very busy with the feeding campaign, our sons Lyle and Blake are starting to come up with very weird to do lists at home during lock down so pray for the parents' fruits of the spirit haha!

Greatest Challenge
-My greatest challenge recently has been to raise enough finance to feed ministry families & keep momentum going for CSRM due to COVID-19 pandemic.
2019
  • In October, three teenagers from one of the neighborhoods the sports communities is active in, gave their lives to Christ. A few weeks later five team members of this sports community
    got baptized. It was awesome!
    • We also organized the International Sports Community Training (ISCT) in the Netherlands. For more information check our website: nxtmove.nl/sportcommunity/isct/.
  • In November we organized our first dance retreat with sixteen dancers. Men and women became more aware of dance as worship to God, people got healthy and God worked in their lives.
  • On January 5th,  we will organize the “Make sports your ministry” training. We hope to empower and equip athletes from all over the country to share Jesus in their clubs and
    teams.
  • In August, we had our Sports Camp with 130 teenagers from all over the country. It was amazing to see how young men and woman made decisions to follow Jesus.
  • In July, we sent different teams to Spain, Ukraine, Lebanon and Uganda for an Outreach. On our Facebook and Instagram, you can find some short stories.

The power of sport
We recognize the unimaginable power of sport. Sport connects and brings people together regardless of status, ethnicity and religion. Sport ensures that we meet many people, for example in the neighborhood, at the sports club or in a team. Millions of people worldwide share a passion for sport and the reach of the sports movement is unprecedented.

Partners of the church
We believe that the church is the place where Christians grow in their relationship with God. So we are absolutely not a substitute for the church. We helped the church to reach out to the people around her. For someone who does not believe, it is often a huge barrier to enter the church. So we bring the church to the sports field. That is familiar ground for every younger person. Working out together creates mutual trust and openness to share life with each other. In this way we help the church to connect and remain relevant for young people, both inside and outside the congregation.

The international playing field
Sport is one of the strongest uniform 'languages' in the world. Wherever you go, you play sports everywhere. It goes beyond national borders, ignores ethnic differences and transcends language problems. That power enables us to be an active participant worldwide in the countless networks within the sports world. Not surprising - given the power of sports - the sports ministry network is even the largest mission network worldwide. It provides access to innumerable resources, a constant stream of inspiration and in turn we inspire many organizations worldwide that share the gospel in and through sport.
  • Sport connects and brings people together regardless of status, ethnicity and religion.
