Romans 10:14

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?”

Teamwork

Teamwork

In basketball going one on one is a way to score and there are many great one on one players who simply are too skilled to let one defensive player stop them. Players like Michael Jordan, Lebron James and Kobe Bryant were so athletic and skilled that it often took more than one defensive player to hold them from scoring. The Detroit Pistons even devised a defense that was made to stop Jordan and make other less skilled players try to score. While there are players that good, most of us aren't and when we try to do it on our own we usually come up short and hurting our team. I use to have a saying when I was coaching, TEAM = Together Everyone Accomplishes More. Meaning if we work together we will be more successful as a team and that holds true in life also.

KEEP CARING AND SHARING!

Jesus did some of his best teaching in one-on-one situations. For example, Nicodemus came to Him by night, and Jesus shared with him, one-on-one the opportunity for new birth through the moving of the Holy Spirit (John 3:1-21). Jesus went one-on-one with Zacchaeus, a hated tax collector, who He saw in a tree, when He invited Himself to his home for supper (Luke 19:1-10). Who can forget when Jesus met a woman at a well who was there because she was ashamed of who she was because of her past life and that Jesus explains that He was the Messiah, the one she had been waiting for and that He could give her "living water" that would give her Eternal Life. (John 4:1-28)

You might have heard about Jesus at a large meeting and made that decision to follow Him, but the Christian faith is shared most effectively when it is communicated one-on-one!

Have you ever shared you faith with a friend? If not, why not? It is the best gift you will ever give anyone. It's Eternal! Sharpen your one-on-one skills in how to share your faith and do be afraid to take a shot at it with people you know. The results aren't dependent on you. It's God who contacts and brings people to Himself.
