Did you know the word athlete can be found in the Bible?

Hello, I’m Dr. Greg Linville, and yes, God inspired the Apostle Paul to communicate spiritual lessons that are based on the athletic experience!  In a letter he wrote to his protégé Timothy, Paul wrote: athletes are not crowned unless they compete according to the rules.” 

The spiritual lesson he was inspired to communicate to his young ministry student was: “Live your life according to the biblical rules.”

There’s a good chance that if you’re seeing this, you are a sports minister, athlete or coach... and you know that you can be disqualified from winning any sports championship unless you compete by the rules.  Similarly, the spiritual lesson for all Christians and any sports minister who may be watching… is that unless we live our lives according to the biblical mandates, our witness and ministry will be greatly hampered if not completely nullified.

So commit today to "compete" according to the rules in your sport, but more importantly, live according to the biblical mandates!
