Are you empowered by Jesus to develop Christ-like maturity in others?

The hope of today’s blog is to encourage all sports ministers, athletes and coaches to know and feel God’s empowerment to engage in the process of maturing their sports ministry leaders and athletes...in Christ.

In the 1st chapter and 29th verse of the letter to the Christians in Colossae, the Apostle Paul was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write a word of encouragement and empowerment rooted in the Greek athletic tradition as communicated by the Greek athletic word: Agonizomenos. Which communicates we are to “strive” in spiritual efforts like athletes “strive” to succeed in sport.

In this passage Paul states that he is empowered by Christ to “strive” so as to “present everyone mature in Christ.”

Do you experience this empowerment from Jesus working energetically in you to empower people to “mature in Christ?”
