View the entire posting at: https://careers-uscsalvationarmy.icims.com/jobs/10195/director-of-athletic-%26-community-ministries/job Job Objective:  The Director of Athletic and Community Ministries will provide leadership and accountability for managing all aspects of the corps community center ministries; e.g. athletic complex and ministries, leagues, staff and clinics along with supervising officials, coaches and volunteers.  This individual will develop, implement and evaluate a comprehensive portfolio of ministries which enhance experience of a diverse array of community and corps member through exposure to and participation in youth, athletic and recreational ministries and services.  Additionally, there will be engagement of community relations and departmental resource/budget management.

  •  Manage the daily oversight of activities for Eagle Creek Youth, Community Center, Athletics ministries, including leagues, clinics and community activities.
  • Work collaboratively on an on-going basis with schools, community groups, colleges and academic ministries to foster buy-in, participation and support for sports ministries
  • Be willing and able to communicate the needs and success of the Community Center to schools, service clubs and/or media.
  • Emphasize learning and development in the areas of self-efficacy, leadership, teamwork and problem solving within sports ministries.
  • Oversee the hiring, training, supervision, evaluation and necessary discipline of assistants/attendants, paid staff, and volunteers who work in/for the Eagle Creek Corps Community Center athletic and youth ministries.
  • Execute and maintain existing recreational sports ministries; continually reassess the population for changes in demographics, interests, and needs and propose new ministries as needed to respond to those changes.

Supervisory Responsibility: Position supervises Community Center paid staff and volunteer staff.
