CSRM is honored to have Professor, and former Sport and Recreation Pastor David Waddell, as one of our "Professional" Board of Trustee members. Waddell is a veteran of Sports & Rec Ministry as he served at Germantown Baptist Church for many years before becoming a Professor of Recreation & Leisure Pursuits at "Ole Miss." Known for his uncanny, and sometimes even funny, humorous outlook on life, Waddell brings smiles and joy to all who encounter him. CSRM's Executive Director, Dr. Greg Linville, says..
"CSRM is indeed honored to have Dave as one of our Trustees. To have someone of Dave's gitfs, abilities, experience and position, is indeed a blessing. He brings two very important sides of the Local Church Sports Outreach Movement to bear on all that we engage in...Being a long time Local Church Recreator he "gets" what CSRM needs to provide and be about...In his role as Professor he has been placed in a very important position to help us enhance our Certification and also help us with the foundational research and reflection our Movement needs. To top it all off he's also an author! Yet what I treasure most about Dave is his utter and sincere commitment to Evangelistic-Disciplemaking through Church Sports and Fitness and his humble acknowlegment of his need of the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. CSRM is indeed privileged to have him as a board member and my life has been greatly enhanced by his love and friendship"
Waddell not only serves on the CSRM Board but is also heavily involved in the REACHgathering (REACHgathering.org), a member of CSRM's Overwhelming Victory Press Editorial Team (http://www.csrm.org/overwhelming-victory-press.html) and works with CSRM's Director of Certification (http://www.csrm.org/certification.html) - Dr. Larry Clay.
Please welcome Dave to the CSRM Board of Trustees and be sure to thank him for his sacrificial efforts on behalf of our Movement.
The Vision & Mission of CSRM is entrusted to the oversight and care of its 12 "Trustees." Over the course of CSRM's 24 years there have been over 50 men and women who have shouldered the distinct responsibility to hold the Staff of CSRM accountable to uphold the Vision/Mission of the association of Church Sports & Recreation Ministers (CSRM). Six of the 12 Trustees are "Practitioners" meaning they serve as Local Church Sport, Rec or Fitness Ministers and the remaining six are "Professinoals" meaning their vocations are fields such as Law; Finance; Accounting; Pastoral; Academic Professors or other professions.
