CERTIFICATION


Level II Certification: Course Requirements

Core Content: The following 16 foundational subject credits must be completed.  Each requirement can be met using resources provided on the resource list, attending a seminar in each area or doing an internship stated below.


Theology / Bible

1. Biblical basis for sports/recreation ministry

2. Biblical basis for theology of competition
            3. Evangelizing through sports/recreation ministry
            4. Discipling through sports/recreation ministry
            5. Christian ethic of competition


Philosophy
            1. History and philosophy of sports/recreation

2. Initiating and maintaining a vision for sports/recreation ministry


Administration and Organization
            1. Risk management and legal considerations in sports/recreation

2. Budget and fundraising

3. Recruiting and training volunteers and staff

4. Supervising staff and volunteers

5. Supervising and administrating a sports facility
Practical
            1. Equipping and training youth league directors
            2. Equipping and training adult league directors
            3. Event management

4. Prevention, recognition, and treatment of athletic injuries

Elective Content: These subjects are supplemental to core content.  You are required to complete 15 elective credits.  You can use sports related leagues for up to 3 elective credits.

Internship / Mentoring
Credit toward completion of CSRM Certification curriculum can be earned through interning with an approved mentor.  Mentors will work with the Education Coordinator and the intern to set guidelines for time frame and applicable credit work. Mentors will verify hours the intern worked and credits to be given for the experience.

 

Anyone interested in doing an internship will need to contact the mentor to check their availability and submit the internship agreement form to the Education Coordinator prior to starting the internship.
