Regional Groups
Announcing changes to CSRM's Sports Outreach
Leadership Development (SOLD) groups...
The CSRM board has determined 2011 to be the year they focus on
developing local "Connections" for CSRM partners. Including the
following...
- Renaming and reinvigorating current SOLD
groups into "CSRM
Connections"
- Initiating new regional "CSRM Connections"
groups for areas not
currently served by a local or regional SOLD group
- Strengthening existing SOLD / "CSRM
Connections" groups - including
making efforts to reach out to local churches and para-ministries who
have not yet been apart of a SOLD group
- Creating new synergy by enhancing the
opportunities for local Sports
Outreach Ministers to "Connect" with one another
- Maintaining the SOLD objectives of Leadership
Development for all
Sports Outreach Ministers
- Identifying and empowering "Connections"
Coordinators for each "CSRM
Connections" group
- Providing even more resources for "CSRM
Connections" groups
including: Connections for guest speakers/trainers; Connections with
other Ministries and Connections with other resources all designed to
"equip local churches to change lives through sport and recreation"
- Developing a "3c1i" national youth basketball
tournament for all CSRM
member churches. This will be done in conjunction with CSRM, Connect
Ministries, Chick-Fil-a & Impact Ministries (thus the: 3c1i).
Each "CSRM Connections" group will be able to send teams to this
tournament
- Continuing the "CSRM Connections" via our
website including
Connecting those seeking a ministry position with churches looking to
hire a Sports and Recreation Pastor and staff
- Special Connections activities will occur at
the annual Sports
Outreach Summit this year in Indianapolis

Starting a
Connections
group
If you would like to start a Connections Team for your area/city,
please
first
consider
the qualifications of being a leader. If you meet the qualifications
and would
like more information about starting a group, please fill out the
application
below.
What are the qualifications of a Connections Team leader?
1. I am a growing Christian serving in my church.
2. I agree with the Statement of Beliefs outlined on the CSRM website.
3. I meet the qualifications of a leader as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and
Titus 1:5-9.
4. I am not engaged in immorality or unsound financial practices.
5. I have experience in church sports or recreation ministry.
6. I desire to serve, train, and equip local churches.
7. I will devote the necessary time to develop a Connections Team.
8. I am willing to be an active member of CSRM.
9. I have the support of my church in this endeavor.
