The CSRM
Vision 2010 and Beyond
January 2010
CSRM established itself as a champion of local Church &
Recreation Ministers in the mid 1980’s and continues to grow and evolve
as the leader in helping local churches reach their communities and
world. The Board of Directors and staff continually challenge
themselves to respond to the needs of Church Recreators and Sports
Ministers by constantly re-evaluating what it means to be relevant yet…
Our vision remains “changed lives.” The
end goal and
ultimate purpose of CSRM is to see individual lives being redeemed
through a personal relationship with Christ and through those changed
lives, see entire communities revitalized including restored:
marriages, families, cities and countries.
Our mission remains to “equip local churches.”
CSRM exists to: Train, equip and resource local church staff and
volunteers, mobilizing them to build bridges in their communities using
sport, recreation and leisure activities for the purpose of leading
people into a personal relationship with Christ
Our four-fold “C” strategy
CONFERENCING – the annual summit,
regional gathering, affinity groups
CONNECTIONS – Sports Outreach Leadership
Development (SOLD) groups & bringing members, churches and
partners together
CONSULTING – Mobilizing individual
churches through personalized consulting and mentoring
CERTIFICATION - The world’s premier and
only professional Sports
Minister Certification along with the initiation, development and
facilitation of Sports Outreach Ministry Degrees in Universities and
Colleges
Thus, as CSRM enters into a new decade of equipping the local
church we sincerely pledge ourselves to work passionately in the
present, building on our solid past to envision the future of local
church outreach.
For example, a few minor additions to our website are designed to
continue CSRM’s commitment to equip the local church to change lives
include monthly:
Book Reviews – Look for concise
overviews of the latest
literature relevant to local church Sports and Recreation Ministers
and/or research on topics such as faith-sport integration, leadership,
ministry, outreach and more. Send us your suggestions of literature to
review.
Executive Director Blogs – Look for
information on current
trends, changes, news and updates in the field of local church Sports
and Recreation Ministry from the Executive Director of CSRM
Guest Blogs – Look for contributions
from other members and
leaders in the field of local church sports and recreation. Be sure to
recommend an article that has helped you, suggest a topic you’d like
insight or information on, or a person you’d like to hear from.
Preferred Partner Updates – Look for
periodic highlights of
those groups, businesses, resources, services and ministries which have
committed to providing CSRM members with “real” discounts on products,
resources and services. CSRM staff and Board members save each CSRM
member countless hours of frustration by doing the research into those
who provide high quality services and products at the most economical
rates. No more having to spend hours on the internet or phone trying to
satisfy a local church finance boards demands for “three bids.” CSRM
does all the work so our members can be assured all who “make the
Preferred Partners cut” will out produce all competitors.
Job & Resume Postings – Looking
for a ministry position?
Does your church need to hire someone? Post your opportunity or your
desire for an opportunity.
Resources – Look for CSRM’s website to
continue to provide relevant resources for on-line purchasing.
Connections – Look for updates on all
the information a Sports and Rec Minister needs including S.O.L.D.
